Interviews
Zugizland.com & Mike P

ZI.Com: Cracked Tiles is set to be released January 28, 2003. How does it feel to have your first album out?

Mike: Feels dope man. Cracked Tiles release has been been anticipated for a very long time and we are all very excited about it's release.

ZI.Com: Sample songs have been available on your website for quite some time now. You've also put out a two song single and have had your music featured on the Psychopathic Records' compilation album "Hatchet History". Would you say that what has been heard already is a fair representation of the rest of the album?

Mike: Yeah, everything is in that same vein, but there are some surprises still on the album.

ZI.Com: Toxic Rock. Why is your music referred to as Toxic Rock?

Mike: Everyone's got to put a title on everything these days. You know there is gangster rap, pop rock, hip-hop etc. The masses that our audience is made of would understand the meaning of Toxic Rock.

ZI.Com: Your beginning a tour at the end of January as the opening act for Kings X. How did that come about?

Mike: Management and agents set that all up. We just said "cool".

ZI.Com: What cities are you going to be playing?

Mike: Ton's of different cities. We star in St. Petersburg, FL and end up in Houston, TX. Check out www.zugizland.com for the complete list.

ZI.Com: Looking forward to seeing anywhere in particular?

Mike: I really want to see the whole country, especially the Southwest by Arizonia/New Mexico.

ZI.Com: You've had a roster change within the band recently. Could you elaborate more on that?

Mike: NO!!!

ZI.Com: Come on man, give us the scoop.

Mike: Guido quit Zug Izland because of health issues. Guido will always be a part of Zug Izland and will always be welcome to work with us. We wish nothing but the best for him.

ZI.Com: Have you found a new bassist yet, and if so, what can you tell us about him?

Mike: Nestor Hendricks will be our new bass player. I don't know much about him. Yet another mysterious bass player. I can tell you that he is the shit. He came through for us at the last minute and freaked it.

ZI.Com: So what's next for Zug after the album release and this initial tour?

Mike: Another tour is being booked, information about it will be released soon on our website.

ZI.Com: How well do you expect your first album to sell?

Mike: My mom and sisters will buy copies and hopefully a few of our friends too. I think everyone's (band member's) mom will be buying the album. We also hope that Juggalos will snap it up too.

ZI.Com: When you're working on an album how many songs almost make it onto the album but end up getting left behind?

Mike: Depends on the album and the artist. Only one track got left behind with Zug Izland. Certain songs don't fit the flow and theme of the album.

ZI.Com: Anything else you would like to say to your fans out there?
Mike: Whadup... here we come!!
