RealJuggalettes.net & Mike P and Syn
Angie: How many songs are on "Cracked Tiles"?
Syn: 14
Angie: How many do you have done?
Mike P: 14
Syn: 14 are done but we're just mixing right now, we're like council mixing, ya know what I mean?
Angie: That's cool.
Syn: The album's done, there's 14 tracks but right now we're just in the final stages of just ya know, e-queing it and doin' a council mix.
Angie: Can you describe the sound of Zug Izland? Like is it wicked like Twiztid...
Mike P: The sound of Zug Izland is every kind of music I've ever heard in my life.
Syn: But it's definately Juggalo.
Mike P: There's some carnival shit on it, there's some evil shit on there, and there's some nice stuff on it.
Syn: But it's not as wicked as Twiztid or ICP, it's still got that same flavor, but ya know it's definately Juggalo. But, not as wicked. We leave the wicked shit to the fuckin' kings, ya know what I'm sayin'? We're not tryin' to be, we're not tryin' to jump in the same bandwagon, ya know what I'm sayin'?
Angie: Violent J has written the lyrics to the Zug Izland songs?
Syn: It's true.
Angie: Did you write any of the songs yourself?
Syn: I wrote a lot of the ad libs and stuff and vocal melodies, the words were written by Violent J.
Angie: Do you plan on writing any lyrics for anyone else's albums?
Syn: I definately do. Yes. The next album, Zug Izland album, ya know. We'll still be in the same family, same thing, probably the same chemistry too ya know. It's just so perfect, the way that it worked out, it's just ya know, it's just perfect. But, yeah definately, ya know, I write for other stuff too.
Angie: Are there any guest appearances on the album?
Syn: Yes there are.
Mike P: Everybody. We got uh, Jamie Madrox, Twiztid, everyone from Blaze, ya know, Blaze Ya Dead Homie and uh, Anybody Killa, ICP, Rude Boy's on there.
Syn: And Joy.
Mike P: Some other various musicians from around town. Sabu's on there, he doesn't say anything, but he's on there.
Syn: He's been in the studio all the time, me and Sabu hang out pretty tight.
Mike P: Sabu didn't sing on the record, put it that way.
Syn: Right. It's contributing. And there's a lot of fresh girls that are on there too from like Italy and shit that we had come in. Well, actually, we kinda stumbled on it and then we took her to the Lotus Pod, she's on "Dreams." And we got a back up vocalist girl named Joy and then a bunch of pissed off chicks on "Sunny Day" and those are all real calls.
Angie: They're all real calls on "Sunny Day"?
Syn: Yep.
Mike P: Those are real voice mails we got, we had to put them on the record. So....various girls.
Syn: Yeah. "I been waitin' for you since 3 o'clock in the morning, where the fuck are you, you asshole, you're probably fucking one of your whores." Yep, yeah, those are all on "Sunny Day" and those are all legit.
Mike P: There's one that calls everyday like that.
Syn: It's funny as hell.
Angie: "Sunny Day" is like one of my favorite songs now.
Syn: It's pretty bumpin' isn't it?
Angie: I really like it.
Syn: Basically, ya know, "Sunny Day" is like, that's definately a Juggalo song without being wicked, like it's just got that Juggalo feel about it, ya know?
Mike P: There's some wicked shit on there, like "Small Town," it touches on some really crazy shit, so...
Angie: There's a lot of Juggalos that are really into Zug Izland and there's some Juggalos that are hatin' on Zug Izland and say that Zug Izland is soft or weak compared to the average Psychopathic sound, what do you have to say about that?
Mike P: Well, check it out--We definately ain't weak and we ain't soft. We have some mellow songs on the record, just ICP came out with "Take Me Home" on Forgotten Freshness, did ya hear that?
Angie: Yeah.
Mike P: That was pretty fresh.
Syn: You can't deny that that's a fresh song.
Mike P: And you can't call that weak 'cause it's a mellow track.
Syn: Is it ICP? Is it wicked? No. But I mean...
Mike P: It's still ICP. But check this out--Ya know people that like us, people that don't like us, not everyone's gonna like us. Not everyone likes Twiztid on the label, but fuck 'em. If they ain't down with it, the fuck 'em, it's cool. I ain't mad at them, but...
Syn: And we definately ain't mad at the haters, they just got too much time on their hands. And like 9 times outta 10 most haters are the same lil' bitch that's got your poster on his wall. But I can respect what a lot of Juggalos are saying, ya know. They're down with rap and, and they're down with the wicked shit and ya know what? So am I and that, that's fresh, ya know? And if you don't like this, then that's cool, then just don't spin it, ya know what I mean?
Mike P: Vioent J and Mike P. wrote and produced this record. This is Vioelnt J.
Syn: It's Cracked Tiles, man. It's been a dream of his to do this for a long time. So, all the O.G. Juggalos that know, ya know? And if they're down with ICP, it's just a different flavor, ya know what I mean? We're not trying to, we're not trying to go the Twiztid route, we're not trying to go the Blaze route, we're not trying to go the ICP route, ya know what I'm sayin', Psychopathic. We're tryin' to go a different avenue. Ya know, we're from the underground, but we're not sellin' out ya know what I'm sayin'? We're just gonna represent a different level.
Angie: I totally understand the whole thing, I really like Zug Izland. Is there gonna be a Zug Izland tour coming soon?
Mike P: Yeah, we're, we're supposed to be on the Mirror, Mirror tour but now there's some business stuff that's goin' on that's gonna pull us off for certain dates. So, basically we're on the Mirror, Mirror tour for select surprise dates instead of the whole thing but we will be on it.
Syn: There'll be more information posted on the ICP website as to what the reasoning is, why we're not gonna be out on all the dates.
Mike P: Basically, Alex has got a big deal goin' on for us and we're just busy dealin' with all that stuff, but we will be on that tour so keep an eye out for us.
Angie: Alright.
Mike P: Where ya from, Angie?
Angie: I'm from Missouri.
Mike P: Missouri....
Angie: Near St. Louis.
Syn: My brother's from Kansas City.
Angie: Really?
Syn: Yeah.
Angie: Cool.
Syn: Where do ya..oh, Mobilie, you know where Mobilie is?
Angie: No, I'm like an hour west of St. Louis.
Syn: Okay, cool.
Angie: If you could do a collaboration with any other singer or rock stars, who would it be?
Syn: Uh..fucking...uh...well that's a pretty trippy question. I dunno.
Mike P: Uh..Ozzy Osbourne and Sherryl Crow and Barry Manilow.
Syn: Just so I can beat his fucking ass when we're done. I hate that nosy assed bastard. Yeah. If you even know who Barry Manilow is.
Angie: Kinda, not really.
Syn: An old school ninja that sings fucking cronid songs.
Mike P: The Barry Manilow thing was a joke, alright? Hey check this out, yeah, I'd be down with those two cats and Jerry Reeve, how 'bout that.
Syn: Alright, check this out--For real...Eddie Vedder.
Angie: Eddie Vedder? That'll be pretty cool.
Syn: Yep. We're doin' that anyway. (Mike P. is in the background and says "UH"). Oops. Fuck it, forget it, it's cool. But yeah, yeah that's in the works. We're gonna go meet with that ninja. We had 2 Juggalos go down there and uh..uh....shit, (talking to Mike P.)it was on the site, it's alright. Yeah. Nononono, they don't know about that. Yeah, we ain't gonna talk about that.
Angie: Okay. That's fine.
Syn: Mike P's just punch...pullin' my fucking hair out and shit.
Angie: Is the mysterious bass player Vampiro?
Syn: No. No. Sometimes.
Mike P: He could be, but we don't know. We don't fucking know. This guy just shows up, he looks differnt everyday, that's the truth. We don't even know his fuckin...I don't even know his real name.
Syn: He's the badest fuckin' bass player in the world, that's for sure.
Angie: What do you consider your influences and what other bands have you played in?
Mike P: Say that again.
Syn: What are your influences and other bands, what other bands have you played in?
Mike P: Uh...other bands I've played in? Fuck them bitches.
Syn: Yep.
Mike P: Put that in there.
Syn: It don't even matter what we did before Psychopathic matters nothing at all and ya know, later on they'll figure that all out, but umm...
Mike P: Our influences? I'd say...uh...Everything from Led Zepplin to NWA.
Syn: To Nine Inch Nails to fucking...just world music, ya know what I'm sayin'? Everything.
Angie: Do you listen to rap other than Psychopathic?
Syn: Pretty much no. I've listened to ICP forever, the other rap. Nah, I like old school rap, gangster rap, ya know what I mean? NWA, stuff like that, I've always been down with that. But, ICP's just got that flavor, 'cause you know 'casue you're a Juggalo. It's just got so much more to it in the verses than just a regular rap, ya know what I'm sayin'?
Angie: Do you drink faygo?
Syn: Steady. On the regular.
Angie: What's your favorite kind?
Syn: It'd have to be fuckin' Rock-N-Rye.
Angie: That's my favorite.
Mike P: My favorite's Rock-N-Rye with Heinise (::note:: Angie can't spell). Alright, what's that from Angie, tell me. What song is that lyric from?
Angie: Umm..
Mike P: Aww...come on....Forgotten Freshness.
Angie: Umm...see, I don't even have that yet.
Syn: Uh oh.
Mike P: You don't even have Forgotten Freshness?
Mike P. and Syn: Daaammmmnnn....
Mike P: I produced a lot of that too.
Syn: You're missin' out on some fresh ass album.
Angie: I've heard parts, I just ain't gotten it yet.
Syn: Alright, that's, that's cool. We forgive you. Get out and get that, it's cool. Zug Izland's on there, 2 tracks, the 1st track I ever did with ICP is on there. Also, the 1st beat that Mike P. ever did for ICP is on there.
Angie: I heard it's really good.
Syn: Yeah, it's phat as fuck, really cool flavor.
Angie: What is your favorite rock band?
Mike P: Zug Izland.
Syn: Zug Izland. Alright....favorite rock band.....Pearl Jam, when they were hidden..Ten.
Angie: Mike P., is it true that you're doing the 6th Joker's Card?
Mike P: Yes Ma'am.
Syn: Yes, it's true.
Angie: Syn, you like Black Sabbath right?
Syn: Fuckin' love Black Sabbath.
Angie: What's your favorite song?
Syn: Have to be "War Pigs." ::starts singing:: Generals gathered in their masses, just like witches and black masses. Ya feel me? Don't be surprised if we don't pull that bitch out in concert either! With 808 fuckin' wicked kick drums.
Angie: The local rock scene for Detroit is booming just as much as much as the rap scene, do you have any favorite local bands?
Syn: Local bands....ya know....actually, I kinda got a thing for this band called Face.
Mike P: Face is good.
Syn: They got this female vocalist who's absolutely amazing. She's kinda like Aneika Costa (::note:: Again, Angie can't spell), you familar with her?
Angie: No.
Syn: She's R&B, kinda rock and roll. But Face is a local rock and roll band that I like and Mike P. likes.
Angie: There's rumors about the Blue Bomber in JCW. Will you be making appearances in local federations, tryin' to gear up for the JCW tour?
Mike P: (in the background) Wait, wait a minute....who's the Blue Bomber?
Syn: Actually, I think it's the Blue Bullet really. It's the Blue Bullet, but that's purely speculation that that's Syn.
Mike P: He will be making some appearances, but ya know...uh...we're not sure who that is exactly. Know what I'm sayin'?
Syn: But I do know for a fact that it is the Blue Bullet. He's fast as fuck. I've seen him a few times.
Mike P: I can take him.
Syn: That's purely speculation too.
Mike P: I can kick his ass.
Angie: Purely speculation. But you think he's gonna be on the JCW tour some?
Syn: Oh, guaranteed. That's a definate yes.
Angie: Where you concerned at all that the Juggalos wouldn't accept Zug Izland?
Syn: Of course I was concerned 'cause I'm a Juggalo myself but I can understand because of the difference in the material that probably most of 'em won't like it that's why they are Juggalos, ya know what I mean?
Mike P: No, most of them are going to like it because it's a Juggalo record.
Syn: But, in the making of it, yeah there was concerns of that. But really, we're just more concerned with trying to put out a great album, ya know what I mean?
Angie: I can't wait. Do you know a speculative release date or anything?
Mike P: Uh, well we had one, but now uh....with this big other record deal that we have going on, everything's changing that's why of course the tour changed also.
Syn: We're always Pschopathic, ya know what I mean? We're not changing that, ya know what I mean? That's always gonna be that way. But we're going to a major.
Mike P: Just like ICP and Twiztid are.
Syn: It's mainly, it's mainly for distributing purposes only.
Angie: How long have you been into Psychopathic music?
Syn: I've been down for probably about 6 yrs. Mike P..about the same, we've been kickin' it about the same. About 6yrs we've been down.
Angie: Have you known Mike P. forever....or....
Mike P: Check this out, you gotta read my interview on the ICP website, it talks about how me and G-Man met. Have you read that yet?
Angie: Yes, I read it....a while ago though.
Mike P: Check that out, that's the story of me and Syn, ya know.
Angie: Are you guys gonna make a video like Shockumentary or Born Twiztid?
Mike P: Some day, ya know.
Syn: Definately. I, I want to, yes.
Mike P: When everything's relavent, when we got a good story to tell.
Syn: We got good stories to tell now.
Angie: What was the inspiration for the Father Syn confessional thing on the Juggalo Show and do you have any training in the clergy?
Syn: I have zero training in the clergy other than just sinning. It was just funny as fuck. We were just talkin' about it, like someone would say somethin' and they're like they fucked up and I'd be like look at 'em and say "Well, there's been no sins commited here." If they pass me the joint of give me some weed, I'll forgive them for their sins, ya know what I mean. It just turned into a studio joke and just like everything else, we just put on the Juggalo Show, ya know.
Angie: Well that's about all the questions I have.
Syn: That's it. That was pretty easy.
And that's that. We talked for a few seconds longer.
In closing, Syn had this to say: "Our main objective now is to try and reach out to as many people as we can, ya know what I'm sayin'? And especially Juggalos, 'cause all the mainstream hoes, we don't really care about, we just want 'em to buy our album, that's how I look at it, ya know? But Juggalos, we definately reaching out to all them. In writing the album were we concerned with haters like that other question? I mean, yeah....but we just put that out of our head right away because we're tryin' to do somethin' different. We're not ICP, we're not ya know....we're not Twiztid, we're not Blaze. That's been done and those guys are masters at it and I fuckin' pump it steady so, how am I gonna try to, ya know, try to be that, ya know what I'm sayin'? That's all." Allright, well thank you and we hope to see you soon.
Angie: Well thank YOU very much.
Syn: At the Mirror, Mirror show and I'll holler at one of them secuirty goons or somethin' and then we'll meet wit you. That's straight. Peace out. |
