The story of Jumpsteady
Jump Steady, where should we start? He has been around just as long as ICP has, considering he is Violent J’s brother. Back in the early 1990's, Rob was in Operation Desert Storm (Gulf War) and his brother was in need of money to get his carear started. So Rob would mail money home as often as he could just to help his brother Joe get a start in his rap carear. After the war ended, Rob came home and imediatly took role as one of the cheif members of Psychopathic Records. Jump Steady made his first appearance in 1992 on ICP’s album Carnival of Carnage on the song Taste. This was fresh as fuck and Ninjas were begging for more.
In the Tunnel of Love booklet, a Jump Steady album was advertised. This album was called “Chaos Theory.” Now, this was back in the year 1996. Word of the album was never heard of again. But, Jump Steady’s name has always been around in songs like “Who Asked You?” and “Hokus Pokus.” He was even in ICP’s full length movie, Big Money Hustlas. Ninjas nagged at Psychopathic about his album never being released.
While staying behind the scenes, taking on tasks such as organizing the anual Gatherings, booking tours, promoting music from Psychopathic. Rob felt he had broken his promise to the juggalos, a promise broken for to long. After what was deemed a album never to be released, Psychopathic finally told the Juggalos and Juggalettes that it was finally going to be released in 2002. Before the release though, Jump wrote an intro to the song “Take Me Home” which can be found on ICP’s album Forgotten Freshness: Volume 3. Another song on Forgotten Freshness features Jump Steady. This song is “The Family Song” where you can hear his wife, Nancy (Myzery’s sister) and his daughter, Samantha.
The day was July 19, 2002… the first day of the Gathering of the Juggalos 2002. Jump Steady’s “Chaos Theory” CD was finally released and shocked all of the ninjas. The CD was devastating. Special guests contained ICP, Twiztid, Blaze, ABK, Samantha, Syn, and even the legendary Legz Diamond!
Where will Jump Steady’s career go? Who knows? We all just hope he continues producing albums and intros to songs such as “The Eulogy.” It will be great to see where his album will lead him. But trust me; there will be no stopping Jump Steady or any of the Psychopathic Ninjas. |
